Wilcox-Hildreth hosted the Fort Kearny Conference track and field meet at Wilcox on April 27 in beautiful weather.
The Axtell boys won their fourth straight FKC championship and in the process remained undefeated on the season. The Cats scored 183.5 to handily top the other nine schools. The next two were Amherst (70) and Overton (56). Wilcox-Hildreth was sixth with 40.
Axtell won all but one of the 11 running events (and would likely have taken that one also had it not been for an injury to sprinter Braiden Gomez) and additionally won two field events. The Cats had three individual double winners— Lane Bertrand (110 and 300 hurdles), Jarett Bertrand (400, 800) and Lincoln Trent (1600, 3200). Also winning were Creighton Kring (200),  Ryan Hubbard (high jump), Dustin Klingsporn (pole vault), the 4 X 100 relay of L. Bertrand, J. Bertrand, Kring and Tyler Danburg and the 4 X 400 relay of L. Bertrand, J. Bertrand, Hubbard and Tyler Danburg and the 4 X 800 relay of  Hubbard, Zach Hinrichs, Tom Peterson and Trent.
