The Kearney County Health Services Board of Trustees met August 29 for their monthly meeting. Randy Hoffman, the lead auditor from Seim Johnson, attended the meeting to provide an audit report.
Hoffman told the board the audit process went well. He discussed the impact of the 340B drug discount program on the financials at KCHS. Third party settlements also affected the overall financial landscape.
A five year comparison revealed KCHS is improving their numbers in all areas. KCHS reported a $1.3 million operating loss for the year which is down significantly from last year. Hoffman told the board the expectation is to even out in the next financial year due to the closure of the Countryside Living and Hinterlong Living facilities.
