Ten charities each received a $5,000 donation as part of the Bayer Cereal Experts Grain for Good Sweepstakes. Terry Sorensen, a cereals grower from Minden selected BE the GIFT as the recipient of one of the $5,000 donations.
“One of the things that BE the GIFT will use the donation for is to purchase family season passes to the local swimming pool for single parents in the Minden area, so their children will have the opportunity to be active and have fun throughout the summer,” Sorensen said.
Sally Phillips, leader of BE the GIFT, said the generous contribution from the Bayer Grain for Good program will also be used in two additional ways.
