The Landers boys have been involved in 4H for so long they don’t remember how they got started. Cage, 16, Casey, 14, Ty, 13, and Tanner, 13, each joined the Rockin Riders 4H club at the age of 8. In addition to attending meetings and participating in group events, the brothers show animals at the Kearney County Fair each year.
“When we were really little we started showing goats because they don’t require a lot of show equipment and then we adapted to sheep. We’ve ridden horses our whole lives,” Casey said.
Cage continues to work with goats while Tanner shows goats and horses. Ty and Casey show sheep and horses. Ty also shows his dog at the small animal competition. All of them agree horses are their favorite animal to show. Preparing for the fair takes a lot of time individually and together.
