Minden freshman Hunter Heath and his partner Cinch Heikel of Hazard competed in the 2018 Nebraska State High School Finals Rodeo at the Adams County Fairgrounds June 14-16 in the team roping competition. For their first appearance at the high school level competition, the team gave it their all.
“It was fun to go to our first year of high school rodeo,” Heath said. “I felt like we did pretty good, but we could have been a little bit faster.”
Both boys began roping at a young age. Horse skills and rodeo events are traditional in the Heath home and the passion has been passed through the generations.
