The Kearney County Supervisors set Protest Hearing dates during the regular May 8 meeting. July 10 at 9:00 a.m., July 17 at 1:00 p.m., and July 19 at 9:00 a.m. were the dates and times provided by County Assessor Linda Larsen after speaking with the appraiser. The dates were accepted and set by the board.
Highway Superintendent Randy Smith gave an update on Road matters. The micropaving project on the north end has begun. Smith predicted the work would be completed by the end of the day. A list of Roads Department employees and their duties was provided to the supervisors. He told the board there weren’t many applicants for the open positions but he planned to start interviewing soon.
As a last bit of Roads business, Smith presented renewal contracts for mowing companies that care for County cemeteries. The contracts had no changes from the previous year. The supervisors approved renewal of the contracts.
