The absence of Mayor Ted Griess resulted in a shorter Minden City Council meeting than was scheduled for April 2. The council approved a motion to table two agenda items relating to future improvements and use of Chautauqua Park until the mayor could be present. Presentation of the February 2018 treasury and budget reports was also postponed.
The council was asked to consider the preliminary plat for three subdivisions on the north side of town. City Clerk Abbey Jordan explained that Craig and Riley Space are purchasing properties in order to clean up the north part of town. The land can’t be made a minor subdivision because it hasn’t been platted yet.
Riley Space attended the meeting to help clarify his goal. He said there is a creek that runs through trees between their property and the west side of the CPI filling station, Subway, and Runza that floods the area when it rains. They are cleaning out the trees to reduce the problem. The third subdivision simply squares their property from the neighbors’.
