Dorothy Johnson - February 25, 2013

Dorothy Elaine Johnson, 94, of Bethany Home in Minden passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2013.
Dorothy was born in Kearney County near Keene to Jen and Ida (Bjork) Hansen on Sept. 24, 1918.
She attended church and school in Keene, and graduated high school from Axtell in 1936.
She was married to Grant L. Johnson Nov. 30, 1939, in Norton, Kan. To this union were born three sons: Douglas, Edward, and Timothy.
Dorothy and Grant lived many years in Holdrege and raised their boys there.
She worked at J.M. McDonald for many years and then B-D before they retired to Rogersville, Ala.
She and Grant were married 49 years at his death, and she lived at different times with their sons in Missouri, Colorado, and Arizona.
Survivors include sons, Douglas Johnson of Mesa, Ariz.; Edward Johnson and wife, Mary of Alma, Mo.; and Timothy Johnson and wife, Jane of Larkspur, Colo.; grandchildren, Douglas Johnson, Jr., Michael Johnson, Angela Green, Marty Eickhoff, Stacey Smith, Greg Johnson, and Lisa Johnson. She leaves 14 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Viola Spors, Carol Jean Abramson, Minnie Hendrickson, Leona Jacobson, Gladys Johnson, Lily Berlie, Edna Anderson, Mary Jane Jensen, Elizabeth Johnson, and Rose Gillespie. Surviving brothers are Henry Hansen, Stanley Hansen, and Harold Hansen and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Grant; her parents; and brothers, Ingward Hansen, Marvin Hansen, and Raymond Hansen.
At her request she was cremated.
Memorial services will be held at a later date at Bethany Home Chapel in Minden.
Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden is in charge of arrangements.
