Eloise Agee - December 09, 2012

Eloise H. (Rogers) Agee, 88 of Lincoln, passed away peacefully at the Landing on Dec. 9, 2012.
Eloise was born in Lincoln Dec. 16, 1923, to Richard H. and Marie (Meeker) Rogers.
Eloise graduated from Emma Willard in Troy, N.Y., in 1941 after which she attended the University of Nebraska and graduated with a major in Art.
Eloise married Richard W. “Dick” Agee on Aug. 9, 1942, they had one son, Richard R. Agee.
Eloise participated in and made many significant contributions to community activities throughout her life in Lincoln, Omaha, and Minden as well as Rancho Mirage, Calif., and LaPointe, Wis. In 1941, she served as an Ak-Sar-Ben countess. In 1942, she was inducted as a member of the Sigma Chapter of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and received her 50 year pin in 1992.
She was an active board member of First National Bank of Minden, The Rogers Foundation, Junior League, The Lincoln Country Club, The Lincoln Community Playhouse, the Nebraska Art Association and several other community organizations with a special interest in Art. She and her husband were supporters of the Sheldon Art Gallery, the Lied Center, the Bighorn Sheep Institute and the LaPointe Medical Clinic to name just a few.
Eloise enjoyed traveling, boating, water activities, playing golf, tennis and bridge. She also enjoyed painting and spending time at their homes in California and on Madeline Island in northern Wisconsin.
She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her son, Richard R. Agee; grandchildren, Jennifer L. Agee and Cameron T. Agee, both of Lincoln, and Walker R. Agee of Gillette, Wyo., and great-grandchildren, Jadyn L. Agee, Seth A. Hincker and Tessa N. Hincker, all of Lincoln. Eloise also leaves long time friend and caregiver, Pauline Smith.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Agee; parents, Richard H. and Marie (Meeker) Rogers; brother, Richard H. Rogers Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Jane L. (Turner) Agee.
Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 12 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Services will be held at Butherus, Maser and Love on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m., with Pastor Renae Johnson officiating.
Interment will follow at Wyuka Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Great Plains Chapter of Alzheimer’s Association, Bright Lights or the donor’s choice.
