According to the National Weather Service in Hastings,  June 2010 turned out to be one of the wettest on record for a few areas.  
The heaviest rain fell in south central Nebraska along and north of Interstate 80 and especially north of State Highway 92.  
Rainfall this month has made June 2010 a top ten “wettest June” in Ord, Grand Island, Greeley and Loup City.  In the case of Grand Island, 2008, 2009 and 2010 are all among the ten wettest on record.
June 2010 Rainfall totals- Ord Airport, 10.60” (third wettest on record; all time wettest June 1975, 10.93”; Normal June rainfall 3.34”, departure from normal +7.26”).   Greeley, 11.91”  (second wettest on record; all time wettest June 1896, 16.27”; Normal June rainfall 3.89”, departure from normal +8.02”).  Loup City, 8.83” ( sixth wettest on record; all time wettest June 1896, 11.78”; Normal June rainfall, 3.83”, departure from normal +5.00).  Grand Island, 8.77” (fifth wettest on record; all time wettest June 1967, 13.96”; Normal June rainfall 3.72”, departure from normal +5.05”).
In Grand Island, for the past 3 years, June has been one of the wettest on record.  June 2008 is the 2nd wettest (9.85”), June 2009 the 6th wettest (8.27”) and this June the 5th wettest (8.77”).
