County Assessor Jennifer Pittner attended the May 21 regular meeting of the Kearney County Board of Supervisors to discuss a reappraisal contract.
The contract is for a six year project to reappraise rural outbuildings throughout the county. The contract total of $110,000 would need to be paid in full in the first two years. This reappraisal project is larger than the typical years and therefore more expensive. Pittner told the board she wanted to inform them of the cost to ensure the funds will be available as she builds her budget. The board told her to proceed with the contract.
Protest dates were also set. Protest hearings will be heard July 1 and 16 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day and July 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
