Minden High School junior Anais Sowles is collecting donations for an FCCLA STAR project that will benefit women in need. The collection began two weeks ago with an announcement to high school students and a Facebook post that has been shared by family and friends.
“It’s going to be a community service project where I take purses and fill them with feminine hygiene products and other self care products and donate them to homeless shelters in the state and The SAFE Center in Kearney,” Sowles explained.
The project combines two things Sowles is passionate about: FCCLA and helping the underprivileged.
