Nebraska Schools Nutrition Service Employees Practice Culinary Skills PDF Print E-mail

Minden hosted the June 12-13 Nebraska Department of Education Culinary Skills Workshops in the high school. School Food Service employees from across the state attended the continuing education course.
“The class size was about 30 people. All nutrition staff from Minden attended, not just supervisors, and people came from as far away as Columbus,” MPS Food Service Director Shelia Sanford said.
Continuing education is required for all nutrition staff. The state provides workshops like the one recently held in Minden as a way for food service employees to fulfill that requirement. Conferences are typically held in a centrally located district.
