The Minden Public Schools Board of Education met February 12. Representatives from DLR and Boyd Jones attended to discuss drainage remediation plans for the high school.
Lana Bayless from DLR provided a recap of ASI plans 33 and 34 that were issued to begin resolving the water drainage problem at the new school. The first plan focused on grading on the west side of the school. The project creates a secondary overflow path to help aid in directing water to the underground storm sewer system.
The second plan calls for the addition of a cement overflow path on the south side of the school grounds. It also lays out plans to enhance and separate the school’s storm sewer system from the City’s and increase drain inlet size to better handle heavy water flow.
