Rebecca Miller attended the February 6 Kearney County Board of Supervisors meeting to explain the State Child Support Contract. The one change Miller noted in the contract from years past was a lack of medical reimbursement incentive.
She explained the reason for the change is the result of a Nebraska Supreme Court ruling that ended the reimbursement. She also reported the funds from the incentive have become insignificant in the last few years anyway. The Supervisors voted to sign the contract.
Highway Superintendent Randy Smith gave the board a preview of the One & Six Year Roads projects. Projected cost of the One Year projects is over the budgeted amount of $600,000. Smith explained the overage would be taken from federal funds that have been saved in anticipation of these projects. The One & Six Year Roads public hearing will be held February 20 at 11:00 a.m. in the Kearney County courthouse assembly room.
