A full City Council met for the January 16 regular meeting. Before getting down to business, Mayor Ted Griess had some announcements.
He began by pointing out that a proposed One & Six Year Plan was included in the consent agenda for review. Griess encouraged the council and members of the public to speak with Matt Cederburg or Chris Klahn before February if there are any streets they would like to see added to the list. He then noted that Minden has 15 volunteer emergency responders who dedicated enough of their time and service to qualify for the Volunteer Emergency Responders Incentive Act. Griess declared having so many volunteers to be noteworthy.
Miller & Associates was hired by the City to create a 504 Plan for ADA accessibility at City facilities. Brenda Jensen and James Poulson from Miller & Associates presented the plan to the council. An assessment was conducted to identify noncompliance with ADA regulations. The plan also includes possible corrective actions that can be taken.
