The Kearney County Board of Supervisors met January 2 for their first meeting of the year.
Weed Superintendent and Planning and Zoning Administrator Joe Anderson presented the Nebraska Department of Agriculture annual reports for the board to review. He also informed the board they would need to pass a resolution granting him poser to issue 15 day notices again this year. After speaking with 5th Street Printing, Anderson reported the cost to make and send out postcards informing county residents about the need to obtain zoning permits for construction was estimated at $1,200 to $1,500. He assured the board he would have a draft of the postcard along with a definite cost by the next meeting. No action was taken on either matter.
Highway Superintendent Randy Smith gave an update on road matters. He told the board he had been approached about adding a grading project on the One and Six Year Plan. He also said they would need to set a date for the One and Six Year Plan public hearing soon.
