Minden Public Schools Nurse Julie Anderson was presented the Health Education Professional - Clinical/Medical/Patient/Care of the Year Award during the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE) of Nebraska Fall Conference November 6 in Lincoln. She was nominated for the award by East Elementary Physical Education teacher Ed Rowse.
“Ed is a member of SHAPE Nebraska. Over the summer he lookied into some of the awards the organization gives out every year and the criteria for each of them. He decided that I fit the criteria for the Health Education Professional of the Year and nominated me,” Anderson said.
Although she was aware of being nominated, being chosen for the award came as a big surprise. Notification was sent to award winners in September, but Anderson didn’t learn of her eligibility until the end of last month.
