Minden Beef Boosters are working to bring the Nebraska Beef in Schools program to Minden. The committee has been spreading the word and asking for support in order to kick-off the program in 2019.
“We want to talk to our kids about how much agriculture plays a vital role in our community. The Nebraska Beef in School program will start the conversation on how that affects our local economy,” Superintendent James Widdifield said.
Mary Schwenka of Heartwell introduced the idea of bringing the Beef in Schools program to Minden. After reading about the program from Nebraska Cattlemen on Facebook, she decided Minden could benefit from introducing it in their schools.
