Perry Jorgensen - January 08, 2013

Perry Dean Jorgensen, 87 years of age from Minden, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Bethany Home in Minden.
Perry was born Oct. 17, 1925, in Kearney County near Norman to Harry A. and Emily J. (Bergsten) Jorgensen.
He grew up in the Norman area and graduated from Norman High School in 1943.
Perry was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War serving from 1950 until 1952.
On March 15, 1953, he married Dolores Krueger. They farmed near Minden until retiring and moving into Minden in 1991.
Perry enjoyed working on the farm.
He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden.
Perry enjoyed woodworking and following his children and grandchildren in their activities.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores, of Minden; sons, Greg Jorgensen and wife, Sharon, of Minden and Jeff Jorgensen and wife, Helena, of Chanhassen, Minn.; daughters, Kim Winkelbauer and husband, Paul, of Omaha, Lisa Jorgensen of Omaha and Lori Kallenbach and husband, Greg, of Rising City; grandchildren, Emily, Scot, Adam and Eric; step-grandchildren, Amber and Cameo; great-grandchildren, Hank, Jack, Gus, KayLynn and Macy.
He is preceded in death by an infant son, an infant granddaughter; sister, Thurza Nelson and brothers, Wilbur and Gail Jorgensen.
Memorial services were Jan. 11 at the United Methodist Church in Minden with the Rev. Donald Hunzeker officiating.
Burial was prior to the memorial service at the Minden Cemetery with military rites provided by the Minden American Legion, Heartwell VFW and the U.S. Army National Guard.
Layton-Craig Funeral Home of Minden was in charge of arrangements.
