Byron Holl - January 06, 2013

nden, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013.
Byron was born in Hastings Jan. 14, 1947, to Lorenz and Mary Holl.
He lived most of his life in the Shelton and Minden area.
Byron joined the U.S. Navy in 1964 and later attended DeVry Institute of Technology in Chicago, where he studied electronics.
He met his wife, Judith, while working in Brighton, Colo., and they were married Nov. 4, 1972. A year later the couple made their home in Gibbon.
A very active member of the community, Byron was one of the founders of Shanan Academy. He and Judith also devoted much of their time to their company, Hollman Foods, and Nebraska’s small business community.
Byron was very proud of his children and grandchildren, Leah Jones of Des Moines, Iowa, and children, Jori, Nathaniel, Gabriella and Avi, Hannah Rogers of Des Moines, husband, Will, and daughter Ariella, Keren Fiorenza of Chicago, and husband, Joseph and son Aaron, Isaiah Holl of St. Paul, Minn., Jedidiah Holl of Des Moines, and wife, Kathleen, Hadassah Holl of Des Moines, Havvah Holl of Chicago, Vered Holl and husband, Blake, of Davenport, Iowa, and Shoshanah Holl of Des Moines.
He is survived by brothers, Paul Holl of Gibbon, Carroll Holl of Grangeville, Idaho, Loren Holl of Kenesaw; and sister, Bonnie Holl of North Platte.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Judith; and parents, Lorenz and Mary Holl.
A funeral service was held Jan. 10 at Apfel Funeral Home in Wood River.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Nebraska State Stroke Association
Apfel Funeral Home in Wood River was in charge of arrangements.
