Marilyn Foster - November 10, 2012

Marilyn Marie Foster, 74, of Lincoln, formerly of Lexington, passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Country House Residences in Lincoln.
Marilyn was born Nov. 22, 1937, in Minden, the only child of Earnest and Anne (Meents) Jensen.
Marilyn attended school at Minden, graduating salutatorian of her class. She received both her B.A. in education and her M.A. in guidance and counseling at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Marilyn was a nationally certified school psychologist. Her career included teaching at Stromsburg High School, Lincoln Public Schools, Eastern Illinois University and 25 years with Bellevue Public Schools and CHAP (Children Have a Potential).
She dedicated her life to working and helping children of all age levels. She had a fondness for the handicapped working with various groups through the years. She had a love for music, played the piano and sang most of her life in church choirs.
She was united in marriage to Clifton Neal Foster on Aug. 24, 1962, in Minden.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Clifton, of Lincoln; her children, John Foster of San Francisco, Calif.; Matthew (wife, Beth, daughters, Josephine and Eva ) of Seattle, Wash.; Natalie Foster Anderson (husband Rob, daughters Joelly and Camille), Lexington; and Halcyon Foster (son, Rhys and daughter, Kate Foster-Figari).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Anne Jensen.
Marilyn’s wishes for cremation were honored by her family. There was no visitation.
A memorial service was held Nov. 14 at First United Methodist Church in Lexington with the Rev. Tess Hufford officiating.
Inurnment was in the First United Methodist Church Columbarium.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or the donor’s choice.
