Eileene Rapp - July 23, 2012

Eileene A. Rapp, 87, of Kearney, died Monday, July 23, 2012.
Eileene was born Jan. 4, 1925, to Jay and Bessie (Carter) Poore at their home in Red Willow County.
She grew up in the McCook area where she attended Red Willow country school then graduated from McCook High School in 1942.
On Nov. 10, 1946, she married John W. Rapp. They lived in McCook then moved to the Axtell area in 1958. Eileene moved to Kearney in 2010.
She attended the Christian Science Church.
She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the Farmerettes Club.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband, playing cards and bowling.
Surviving relatives include her daughters, Janice Soderquist and husband, Carroll, of Axtell, Elaine Pease and husband, Todd, of Axtell; son, Kelly Rapp and wife, Laureen, of Kearney; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Leon May of Omaha; sister, Phyllis Alberts of McCook; brother, Virgil Poore of Bassett, Va.; and sister-in-law, Verna Poore of McDonald, Kan.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John in 1993, daughter, Karen in 2010, and brother, Jack in 2007.
Funeral services were July 30 at Horner Lieske McBride and Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney.
Sharon Hansen officiated and burial was at the Kearney Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Axtell Fire and Rescue squad.
