Robert Driver - April 02, 2012


Robert W. “Bob” Driver, 56, of Axtell, died Monday, April 2, 2012, at his residence.
Bob was born March 9, 1956, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Dale and Kathleen (Sampson) Driver.
He graduated from Tri County High School in Iowa.
He was married to Nancy Hunnel on June 21, 1975. He was later married to Diane Murrish in Kearney on Feb. 9, 2000. They made their home in the Kearney and Axtell area.
He worked for Rockwell Manufacturing before going to work in the maintenance department at Eaton Corporation in Kearney.
He was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Kearney.
His hobbies included fishing, motorcycling, yard work, baseball and enjoyed cooking for family and friends.
Survivors include his sons, Chris Driver and wife, Michaela, of Omaha and Pat Driver and wife, Bridget, of Lincoln; daughter, Katie Waits and husband, Emery, of Helena, Mont.; father, Dale, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; brother, Richard Driver of DuPont, Wash.; sisters, Carol Kallas of Evola, Iowa and Darlene Bates of Neola, Iowa and special friend, Nancy McKillip of Kearney.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Diane, and his mother, Kathleen.
Mass of Christian Burial was April 4 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Kearney with the Rev. Mike McDonald officiating.
Interment was in the Kearney Cemetery.
Cremation took place following the vigil.
Memorials are suggested to Kearney Catholic High School Foundation, the American Cancer Association or St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
