Beverly Johnson - February 03, 2012

Beverly J. Johnson, 93, of Kearney, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at Mother Hull Home.
Beverly was born July 16, 1918, in Minden to John S. and Hazel (Brainard) Westesen.
She graduated from Minden High School in 1935. After high school she moved to California and helped build airplanes for WW II.
She then moved to Denver and worked as a secretary. After living in Denver, she moved back to Minden and worked in the A.S.C. office.
She married Norris C. Johnson on March 17, 1949, in Kearney. They farmed south of Kearney until 1980.
In retirement Beverly and Norris enjoyed traveling.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kearney and the Christian Women’s Society.
She enjoyed visiting with family friends. She also donated to those in need in Kearney.
Survivors include her brother, John R. and Marjorie Westesen of Kearney; sister-in-law, Irene Moore of Kearney; brother-in-law, Sid Johnson of Kearney; three nieces and six nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, sister, Jeannine and husband, Eugene “Tuny” Nickel; an infant sister; sisters-in-law, Ardis and husband, Harlan Stanford, and Vi Johnson.
Visitation will be Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 2:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Kearney with the Rev. Gary Main officiating.
Burial will be at the Kearney Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church or the Mother Hull Home.
