UNL Chancellor Ronnie Green stopped in Minden August 14 to speak with the community during a local Rotary Club meeting at the Minden Opera House. Green has been travelling across the state to speak with residents about the university and its impact on the state most of the summer.
“We do this on a regular basis because we think it’s important to know what is happening in communities and important to listen to people about the University as well. We believe this University is your University,” Green explained. “We want to both tell the story of the what the vision and future of the University is as well as what is currently happening. It also gives us a chance to really engage with communities.”
Green reported a record number of students enrolled at UNL for the fourth consecutive year. In addition to the highest number of students in the University’s history, the student body will be the most diverse UNL has ever seen. An estimated 26,500 students on the Lincoln campus will come from nearly every state in the U.S. and from over 135 countries around the world.
