Kearney County Health Services and Two Rivers Public Health Department are asking for resident participation as they form a steering committee to improve the community health profile in Kearney County.
A Community Health Assessment was initiated by KCHS and TRPHD in 2017. Beginnings of the process included a public health survey and meetings with community partners to identify community resources, assets, and gaps. There was a positive response to both initiatives with more than 180 respondents to the survey and more than 20 members of the community outside KCHS staff participating in the meetings.
“We did those surveys with the community. We had them at the fair and we had them online. Right around 100 respondents would have been statistically significant,” KCHS Nursing Director Kendra Brown said. “We had 183 respondents so we felt pretty confident that this was good data and information that we can use from the community.”
